Method 1: Activate SBI Debit Card through SMS

Step 1: First of all, go to the Messages app on your device and click on plus icon to create a new message.

Step 2: At the message box, type PIN<space>CCCC<space>AAAA and send it 567676. Here, CCCC refers last four digits of your Debit card number and AAAA refers last four digits of your account number. For example PIN 2341 7658
Step 3: Once the message was successfully delivered, you will get 4 digit code (One Time Password) through SMS on your registered mobile number.
Step 4: This four-digit code is valid only for 2 days. You need to visit the nearest SBI ATM and insert your debit card.
Step 5: Enter the four digits received on your registered mobile number when ATM prompts you to enter your PIN.
Step 6: Now, you have to change your PIN as your wish. That’s all. Your SBI debit card is now activated.

Method 2: Activate SBI Debit Card through IVRS

Through the Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS), you can easily activate your SBI Debit card.

Step 1: You have to call the State Bank of India’s contact centre (1800 425 3800 / 1800 1122 11 / 080 - 26599990) from your mobile number registered with the bank.
Step 2: You are asked to enter your debit card number. So, you have to enter your 16-digit debit card number completely and also your account number.
Step 3: You will receive One Time PIN (OTP) on your registered mobile number with the bank. This OTP will be valid for two days.
Step 4: Then, you need to visit the nearest SBI ATM and insert your debit card within the span of two days.

Step 5: Enter the four digits received on your registered mobile number when ATM ask you to enter your PIN.
Step 6: Now, you have to change your PIN as your wish. That’s all. Your SBI debit card is now activated.

Method 3: Activate SBI Debit Card through ATM

This is another quick and easy process to activate SBI Debit card by visiting the nearest SBI ATM.

Step 1: Visit your nearest State bank of India ATM and insert your SBI Debit card.

Step 2: You will get an option to generate a PIN when you try to insert a debit card on ATM for the first time. To generate a Pin, you need to select the ‘PIN Generation’ option.
Step 3: It will ask you to enter your SBI account number. Enter an 11-digit account without any mistake and then confirm it.
Step 4: And then enter your 10-digit mobile number which was registered with SBI and confirm it.
Step 5: You will receive a Time PIN which is valid for two days on your registered mobile number, which will be used to create a new PIN at any State Bank ATM.
Step 6: You have to create a new PIN using a One Time PIN at any State Bank ATM by selecting Banking and then PIN change to carry out further transactions.

Method 4: Activate SBI Debit Card through Internet Banking

If you have registered your account on the SBI internet banking website, then you can easily activate your debit card without visiting ATM or bank branch.

Step 1: First of all, you have to log in to the SBI internet banking website (https://www.onlinesbi.com) using the User id and password of your internet banking account.

Step 2: From the main interface, select the e-services option and navigate to ATM Card Services >> ATM PIN Generation
Step 3: You are given two options for authentication that use One Time Password or Profile Password. Choose any of the options to complete verification.
Step 4: Once the authentication was completed, select the account number to which the Debit card is linked.
Step 5: Then, select the debit card for which you want to create or change the PIN.
Step 6: Now, enter the first two digits of the PIN as per your choice and the last two digits will be sent to your mobile number registered with the bank.
Step 7: Once you have received the last two digits of the PIN on your mobile number, you have to enter all the four digits i.e., the first two digits you have chosen and the last two digits sent to your registered mobile number.
Step 8: Click on the ‘Confirm’ button. These four digits will be the new PIN of your SBI Debit card.
